STERILLIUM® LEADS THE WAY IN EFFICACY & SKIN TOLERANCE

Coming with outstanding antimicrobial activity, alcohol-based hand disinfectants are the worldwide gold standard for hygienic hand disinfection. By introducing alcohol as the basis of a hand disinfectant fifty years ago, Sterillium® made hand disinfection many times more effective. Since then, numerous studies on Sterillium® have proven the formulas’ fast and comprehensive spectrum of efficacy.
As well as setting standards in reliable and efficient hygienic hand disinfection, Sterillium® also provides exceptionally good skin tolerability, even with long-term use. In fact, Sterillium® not only helps maintain the skin’s condition but also improves the skin’s health thanks to its moisturising substances.
Yet another key advantage of Sterillium® is its tried-and-tested compatibility with all other products in the HARTMANN Hand Hygiene System – delivering optimum protection for hands across the whole range of disinfection, cleaning, care & protection, and gloves.TIME-SAVING & LIFE-SAVING IN PRE-OPERATIVE HAND DISINFECTION
In the operating theatre too, where hand disinfection is absolutely crucial in preventing the transmission of germs, Sterillium® has been proven to fulfil the efficacy requirements, even with shorter exposure times. The classic of surgical hand disinfection also shows a persistent, residual effect over several hours in surgery, along with excellent compatibility with other HARTMANN products, including surgical gloves.
SURGICAL HAND DISINFECTION WITHIN 1.5 MINUTES
In 2005, a study for the first time investigated the efficacy of Sterillium® for surgical hand disinfection with different application times (3, 2, 1.5 and 1 minute) in comparison with the 3-minute reference treatment in accordance with EN 12791*.
THE KEY STUDY FINDING
Even with an exposure time of 1.5 minutes only, Sterillium®’s immediate and sustained effect is still superior to the 3-minute reference procedure.
According to another auxiliary study, this shorter exposure time translates into time savings of approx. 1,000 working hours per year for healthcare professionals conducting surgical hand disinfection in their day-to-day work**.
